Patricia Jenny
President

Pat retired in February 2019 as Vice President for Grants at The New York Community Trust, the community foundation for New York City, Westchester, and Long Island where she managed a $50 million program and staff providing grants to nonprofits. As a philanthropic leader, Pat founded a now 18-year old collaborative of New York City foundations focused on employment programs and continues to serve on a number of nonprofit boards focused on employment as well as environmental issues.

Sarah Tennyson
Vice President

Sarah has worked as an organizational psychologist for over 20 years. Today her focus is on executive leadership development and team performance. She consults to for-profit and nonprofit organizations of all sizes and has worked with tens of thousands of people in over 20 countries. Prior to joining the Salisbury Forum she volunteered in Board roles for professional membership associations in the field of talent development and coaching. Sarah has been a full time resident in Salisbury since 2020 where she lives with her husband and their retired guide dog. She was born and raised in Bath, UK and moved to the US in 2015.

Bob Rathbun
Treasurer

Bob Rathbun retired in July of 2023 after 25 years in higher education fundraising and capital campaign management, having held leadership roles at Bucknell University, Vassar College, Trinity College, and Quinnipiac University. Before that, he co-founded the pioneering and legendary e-commerce company, Outpost.com. He and his wife, Debbie, are 40-year residents of the Northwest Corner and reside in Sharon.

Christopher Sinclair Secretary

Christopher was born and raised in Norfolk, Connecticut, and has called Salisbury home since 2022. He attended the University of Connecticut at Storrs, graduating in 2013 with a degree in English and Spanish. Christopher was a contributing reporter with Norfolk Now for nearly ten years, writing on a variety of local issues. Since 2020, Christopher has worked as a personal trainer and registered yoga teacher in the Northwest corner. He also teaches yoga classes in Great Barrington, Massachusetts.

Keith Boynton

Keith Boynton is a playwright and filmmaker, and a graduate of Columbia University's MFA program, where he studied under Craig Lucas, Anne Bogart, and Charles L. Mee.  His last feature film, The Haunted Forest, premiered at FrightFest London in August 2025; his previous feature, The Winter House, debuted at the Woodstock Film Festival, won praise at the SCAD Savannah Film Festival, and was awarded Best Narrative Feature at the Sugar Loaf Film Festival. His other feature films include The Scottish Play and Seven Lovers. The New York Times called him “a talent worth watching,” but they said some mean stuff too.

Michael Duca

Michael enjoyed a 40-year career in financial services and wealth management in Philadelphia, New York and Boston. As Executive Vice President of Wealth Management at Cambridge Trust Company, he created the Cambridge Trust Thought Series®, a regular program of events and podcasts featuring a diverse line-up of speakers addressing significant quality of life issues. Michael is also on the board of the Associates of the Boston Public Library. A Twin Lakes homeowner since 1984, he became a full-time resident in 2017.

Ann Fabian

Ann Fabian is a cultural historian who has written books on gambling, American memoirs, and scientific racism, as well as essays and reviews on topics ranging from natural history to Moby Dick. She earned her PhD in American Studies from Yale and taught there for a decade before joining the history department at Rutgers University, where she was Distinguished Professor of History and Dean of Humanities.

Flora Lazar

Flora Lazar moved to Salisbury in 2020 and lives here full-time with her husband, Lee Greenhouse.  She is a retired social worker/psychotherapist as well as an historian focused on education and child welfare.  She built and led the public affairs division of Chapin Hall/University of Chicago, a public policy research organization focused on children and families. Flora produced the celebrated film “Kings of Pastry,“ a film aimed at stimulating conversation about non-academic post-secondary options for youth.  She currently serves as treasurer of the Region 1 Board of Education and was appointed by Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont to serve on the Advisory Committee of the Behavioral Health Advocate, a new department focused on increasing access to mental and behavioral health services.  Before moving to Salisbury, Flora lived in Chicago, where she served on the boards of several of the city’s prominent educational non-profits, including the Old Town School of Folk Music, the Experimental Station, and the Chicago Psychoanalytic Institute.

Jamie Lehrer

Jamie most recently worked as Development Director at the Off-Broadway theater company The New Group for 10 years. Before that, she held the same position at the Lyric Hammersmith in London. Her working life began in publishing as an editor and writer and lived abroad in Switzerland, Singapore but mostly in London. Jamie and her husband John have had a home in Canaan, CT for over 20 years.

Carol Magowan

Carol settled with her family in Salisbury in 1991 after spending 18 years abroad. She became a partner in Amber Construction, designing and building fine homes in the area for many years. She has served on numerous nonprofit boards in many capacities and was an EMT on the Salisbury Volunteer Ambulance Squad until 2015.

Betsy Maury

Betsy is the Director of Development at the New York Youth Symphony. Prior to working in nonprofit management, she was an acquisitions editor at Penguin Random House and travel writer, writing guidebooks to countries in Central Europe for Fodor's Travel Publications. She has served on the board of the Scoville Memorial Library, the SOAR Afterschool Enrichment Program committee and the Region One School Re-Opening Advisory Committee. Betsy has also been a grant reviewer for the NEA and a judge for Connecticut History Day, a state-wide program that engages middle and high-school students in historical research, interpretation, and creative expression through project-based learning. She attended Smith College.

Jim Montanari

Jim and his husband, Dan have lived in Salisbury since 1985.  For over 45 years, Jim's professional focus was portfolio management on behalf of international corporate, institutional and individual property investors.  His volunteer commitments have ranged from Board Member of The St. Bartholomew's Conservancy (New York) to AIDS research funding raising (DirectEffect) on behalf of The Rockefeller University.  Jim graduated from Cornell University and Harvard Business School.

Steve Parmelee

For 30 years, Steve has served in a variety of roles in private education. His past experience as an Assistant Head of School, Dean of Students, mentor teacher, and Dean of Faculty has allowed him to see the many perspectives of a school community. He currently serves in a variety of roles at Salisbury School. After his studies at the University of Michigan, Steve worked at Duke University and two private schools in Los Angeles. He lives in Salisbury with his wife and children.

Lisa Sheble

Lisa came to Salisbury almost 40 years ago from NYC where she was director of publications and photography teacher for a school. She took on similar roles at Salisbury School, but later shifted to the Philosophy & Religion department after receiving her Master's in Religious Studies from Hartford Seminary. Her final classes were dedicated to the study of Ethics and Ecology. Lisa is one of the longest-serving members of our board and continues to take pleasure in learning from leading voices on global issues.
